Vaccination

Had my first vaccination at the weekend, somewhat surprised that when discussing with colleagues one in particular was adamant they won’t be getting vaccinated. Indications from the NHS that compulsory vaccination could be implemented, what are the views regarding NATS doing likewise?

I doubt this government would try to implement compulsory vaccination: that's a civil liberties minefield. However, a business can set criteria which staff need to meet to get & remain employed, so it's possible it could become a requirement to demonstrate a member of staff has been vaccinated. Would refusal result in dismissal? Possibly - that's for the union to resolve, I guess.

In our ACC we are mandated 48 hours off operational duty after vaccination...
Two free days off in the middle of summer, there's been a 100% uptake so far

No doubt the decision to make it compulsory lies with the ability of staff to seek compensation for contracting the virus from an unvaccinated work colleague, so insurers and underwriters ultimately shall determine.
