SID clearance via datalink and cleared altitude.

Hi all,

I'm looking to see if there is any consensus across the UK and Europe. If your airport provides SID clearances via CPDLC does that datalink message specify the initial SID cleared altitude in the message?

When passing SID clearances via voice, we are almost never asked what the initial cleared altitude is but when passing via CPDLC there are certain mainland European airlines who will always ask what the initial climb altitude is, sometimes when already airborne.

Thanks in advance.

Baggy.

I'm not sure what information is sent when I send a datalink clearance, but the initial altitude is built in so the SID profile and therefore requires no separate confirmation.
