Wg Cdr Al Turner RAF

More for the UK military types but I understand that Al passed away on Friday evening at the age of 79 having dealt with MS for nearly 25 years. Some may remember him as OC Midland Radar, ATCEEB or CATCS, amongst many other things having joined the RAF in the 1960s. A truly principled and upbeat character who left his mark on so many.

Adieu

One of my instructors at CATCS. Great chap, always with a sense of humour and a talented cartoonist. Renrut will be missed and mourned by a generation of Mil ATCOs of 'a certain age'; clear skies Al.

I had some of the fun time working with Al many years ago, and remember his capacity for drinking, mischief and ATC, all in great abundance.

A real gent, from a time gone by.
