Optimization of ATM within SESAR context

In Italy we have been recently informed about important changes expected for the next five years, referred to ACC reduction and remote tower implementation.
It seems to be imposed by the European Commission within SESAR context to optimize ATM performances and costs. It sounds so strange this short term obligation considering the growth forecast of European air traffic...
Have you any reliable information about it?

You should read EU Regulation EU716/2014 Pilot Common Project.

https://ec.europa.eu/transport/modes.../deployment_en

As far as I know, ACC reduction and remote towers are not being mandated.

Functions such as Time Based Separation for arrivals and advanced A-SMGCS are being mandated for named airports (essentially the busiest 25 in Europe).

Thank you Gonzo,
for this reason we are doubtful about the explanations given and we can just hope that our trade unions are able to deepen this scenario...

Aye, but Gonzo,

I have a document right here, given to me by one of your recent GMs, telling me that EGCCZQ would be moving to the SOUTH coast.

ATC is a funny old world.

One never claimed ACC reduction was not being pursued, ZOOKER old bean, just that it’s not being mandated by SESAR in the PCP....

What do you mean? Every member State of SESAR can reduce ATC units number at its own discrection, by justifying this choice with the PCP?

Nobody else is interested on the future of ATM for all the member States of SESAR? Nobody else has any information more about the worrying scenario introduced in Italy and expected to be the same everywhere?
