Furthest point ATC can vector you to
This was on an air law test, and I can't find the answer anywhere...
Q. What's the furthest point ATC can vector you on approach?
1. FAF.
2. Approach Course
3. IAF
4. ???
The possible answers were like that.
Anyone know?

30, or less, degree intercept on an ILS, preferably not shorter than 2NM from the point of descend.
Larger intercept, add an extra mile...
That's the rule we have at least?
But the final vector, would be the intercept-vector ofcourse....

Down to the MAP? At my place, 1 mile from touchdown on SRA or half a mile on PAR. If I vector you onto the ILS localiser, once you've established on it the "remaining vectors" are up yo you.

I would say that the furthest point depends on what approach is going to be completed. For instance, in a visual approach I could give vectors to final app or to base leg always taking in acount the MVA.
In a VOR APP/ILS APP the FAF.
In a NDB APP the NDB itself.
At least that is what we are instructed to do in LEMG Approach.
Just my two cents.
