DCL - Departure Clearances via Datalink

Hi all,

I would like to know if there is any DCL expert around here.

I have a question regarding the implementation of the DCL.

From november 10th, a cleared level shall be given with the departure clearance SID, and I would like to know where this "cleared level" field will be inserted in the DCL message.
Anybody know any airport in the world where this was already implemented?

Thanks in advance.

DCL is a special case of a CPDLC route clearance

See these:

Hello Ian,

Not really. but thank you very much for the links.

Regarding the CLD messages defined in the document EUROCAE ED-85A - DATA-LINK APPLICATION SYSTEM DOCUMENT (DLASD) - FOR THE "DEPARTURE CLEARANCE" DATA-LINK SERVICE,

in the field <SID>, the document defines that the size of the field is ">1" and that it shall contain "XXXXXXX" where "X" is defined as Upper Case Alphanumeric (A...Z) + (0..9).

I was told that there are airports including in this <SID> field, the SID code + the transition or the cleared level.

The problem is that we must introduce a "SPACE" within the "XXXXXXX" string, which according to the document ED-85A we are "apparently" not allowed to... but I was told that airporst/ANSPs are deviating from this "norm" since the FMS can read it?!...

And I would like to get in touch with an expert from an airport/ANSP that already did this...

Thank you very much in advance for the help!

An example from New Zealand:

236 150515 NZAA PDC 013
ANZ999 CLRD TO NZCH OFF 23L
VIA POLIS1Q
SQUAWK 5022 NEXT FREQ 121.9
ATIS R
TRANSITION: LIMES ROUTE AACH1
FL:360

The FMS cannot read any part of an ED-85A DCL. The U.S. has introduced CPDLC-DCL which can populate the FMS.
