Promises to be a better flypast for HM.

But....beat the crowds and go the day before for the practice day!!

Lots of helicopters - a single CH47 then 4 x each of: Merlin, Puma, Lynx, Gaz.

Fixed wing - similar to the Mall effort, C17 leading then Big stuff flanked by some Fast jets, a C130 doing a drop from 50ft (hopefully not in the style of the dambusters!!) then a few 4 ships of fast jets.

Oh yes, and the sparrows too.

The NOTAM I saw refers to the area being closed from 1255-1410 UTC on 27th June with traffic forming up in mid-Channel and running North. I'm not sure how far inland they will come, but the Bishop's Waltham VRP is withdrawn, so maybe they will come that far.

Practice days are Mon-Weds dependent upon weather.

Portsdown Hill might be a good place from which to view.

Not sure if this is correct , but i think i read that 50 Tucano aircraft would also participate in the flypast in formation spelling out "50"

Would make an interesting site.............

Well I hope they keep the noise down around Bishops Waltham-some of us may be trying to sleep after another night duty.

I think they have just had a rehersal. Sea Kings, Lynx, etc and a Nimrod.
Presumably they will have another go next week.

I just saw the rehearsal and was curious to know what the small white helicopter was, following in line astern behind a line of Lynxes.

Sadly I shall be on holiday on the 27th so I hope they do another rehearsal before then.

The Tucanos will be in a formation to spell out :

E II R

...or so I am led to believe.

There are also practice days scheduled befoe the event, but I am unsure of the dates.

You missed it, we did it this afternoon! I was particularly amused at Plymouth Mil trying to pretend their radar didn't work by stating 'Procedural Service' as 25 a/c headed out to the hold!!!!!!

From Bembridge IOW to overhead the yellow buoy with the RFA tied to it on the first run(004M) then slightly further east over the Pall Europe Bldg for the second.
