You could try Mick Bain Satco at Kirkwall (at least he was there a couple of years ago) He spent a while out there in the 80's.

BigMan...
Many years ago I believe Vanuatu was manned on a 3 year alternating basis by both France and UK. I am not sure if that is the case now. Back then you needed a British (or French, I guess) passport to work there.

Would very much appreciate if you could e-mail me with some info abaout Fujairah...pay, conditions, lifestyle, movements and especially availability of education for young (9 and 13) kids. How long does it take to drive to Abu and Dbx? Is access to those places easy? How long have you been there? What is the Fujairah govt. like to work for?
Where are you from originally.

Much appreciated.

I understand it's a bit of a basic existance, but take into account the relative life styles and it's probably OK for a couple of years.

Mick once told me that if the locals liked you, you'd be treated like royality - if they didn't, they'd eat you! (A bit like Kirkwall I suppose ).

Big man
You could try the airport phone number here http://www.hial.co.uk/kirkwall-airport.html
or try a search for Mick Bain here
http://www.bt.com/directory-enquiries/dq_home.jsp
There's one M Bain in Kirkwall but I couldn't confirm that that is the one you're after.
Sorry I can't help more.
Good luck
