Shlittlenellie,

A very clear explanation for those who may not understand the issues involved. The incident with the TOM 757 at MAN seems to have been handled with great competence. As a 757 pilot myself I hope that if I ever face a similar incident I would do just as well.

Anyway, this thread has more drift than a microlight in a jetstream.

Thank you to those that replied about the correct phraseology in an emergency.
