ATC Assistants

Hi, does anyone know if airports still use ATC assistants and how much roughly would the salary be? Unfortunately being in my middle 30's I have missed the boat regarding ATC training (would be considered too old) so thought I would see what other opportunities are available to me.
Thanks

You do know there's no upper age limit to apply to NATS?

If you want ATC then throw your hat in there's nothing to lose pal. In answer to your question yes we still use them where I work, but mid thirties is absolutely not too old, if you were nudging 50 maybe I could understand your scepticism. Do not give up on ATC if it is what you want

Yes plenty still do, although many airports are reducing them in number. Where I work however we will be recruiting soon I believe, not sure if this will be externally or not. PM me if you like and ill tell you where to keep an eye out.
