Six A380's??

Near Midnight local 28th August DXB Approach managed, with the help of UAE ACC and AMAN, to land six A380 in a row. Greatly saving vortex miles and helping the landing rate.

Any one better this??

I wouldn't have liked to be on the last lander waiting for three hours to get through passport control!

Multiple Concorde departures, multiple Concorde arrivals, parallel Concorde arrivals.

May not happen any more but more fun than watching a succession of big, fat, slow and ugly aeroplanes.

Can't say that in the big scheme of things this is much of a big deal.

But as an ex-controller who never had the opportunity to do the multiple Concorde thing, lining up a bunch of 380s sounds like great fun!

And one of the reasons I moved on to other things was that the opportunities for having some fun when controlling were slowly disappearing. Good on you DXB!

Well when you have night shift's like DXB has night shift's adding another minimum of three more movements to that hours landing rate is a big deal to me and less holding for operators and ACC. When you are putting gaps behind 380's your landing rates plummets!!

Little things I suppose

impressive

As mentioned, I wonder the mix of transits vs arrival pax.

The arrival hall is loaded at that time of the day.

Is there any information as to actual thruput time, but I suppose they were all in T3, so might not been too bad.

Watched four Concordes take-off consecutively at LHR late 80's on Christamas Eve. I believe it was for air to air photo shoot over Bristol Channel. Can't think of anything that would surpass that experience.

6 fat ones - but no fat in my pocket!

Hey 10 DME ARC - glad to see you are so motivated in pushing more tin and pleasing the operators. Just to remind you that the rest of us doing the same job don't give a hoot about either, especially after having been screwed with the performance bonus and the complete lack of appreciation from the local operator.

How some people amuse themselves simply amazes me.

So what's the spacing you use in DXB?
A380 behind A380 and medium behind A380?

Just curious like...

That's the beauty of the 'egate card'. I just imagine the cursed thoughts of the many as I saunter through the gate in no time while they wonder who this flash Larry thinks he is as they shuffle forward agonizingly slowly.

Mind you less time spent queuing at passport control is often wiped by the wait for the bags. Maybe I'll take carry on only next time......

380-380 potentially as low as min radar sep of 3nm. Can be a bit tight getting them off the runway though.

380-H/M/L = 6/7/8NM

E gate is good I agree

Trouble is there are no real instructions on the gate for the occasional user to use.

I have just renewed my E Gate, after a 6 month lapse, away and visa renewal delays. The only instruction is insert coupon here:::::::::::::: except to do not insert it in the slot...
I can not wait for the smart passports to be welcomed, then I suppose my E gate fee will not be refunded....

Back to the thread, how long before 380 is the alpha male in DXB.????
