I stand corrected - didn't know they differentiated salaries between Twr and App.

Maybe we should try that here......

Well, whatever the correct salary figure is, it's certainly a heck of a lot better than the 12,000 QR a month I earned when I was there roundabout 10 to 12 years ago . . . however, the accommodation was paid for, and I must say it was superb.

That's fighting talk Guy. There's probably 60 or so tower controllers that would like to 'discuss' that with you!

Sure is - and I'm far from the first to mention it here.

Taking into account the huge difference in workload / complexity between the two these days, I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen, eventually.

Let battle commence.......

"QCAA hire directly. It's fairly informal if you are recommended by somebody already working there. No interview required. I believe recruiment is ongoing"

"Recruitment is a fluid process, as it is anywhere. Check QCAA website for ATS contact details."

shift pattern

Hi, sorry to ask about this again but, is the shift pattern always 3 days on, 1 day off? (guess it's morning, afternoon, night, day off). I know it's been said but it just seem a terrible shift to me. It means your only days off are after a night shift and that you nrvet have 2 days off together!!. It seems a very tough shift to me, specially if you are looking for a place to work more than a couple of years. I thought the 6-4 pattern was the usual one in the gulf region.

Thanks!

Never ceases to amaze me that people expect to come to the Sandpit get megadollars, and do SFA work.

Rule3

I worked that shift in Doha for quite some time, and believe me, it's work - especially when you're rostered on alone and you work the entire shift by yourself.

Cat,

I am not talking about those that have, or do work here, just the Wannabies.

Shifts; morning, afternoon, night, sleep, off, repeat. NO solo shifts.

Thanks for the information. As it's been said it is a very important decision and having all the information is necessary.

By the way, when I talked about the 6-4 pattern it's just because that's the one I'be been told there is at Bahrein and Abu-dhabi (by people working there). Never wanted to argue!!

Thanks!

Europe calls Doha!!

Anyone of you guys worked in Doha before?
I need an insider view of things....no silly questions, promice :-)

I will send me CV (thanks for the links) but is this rumour for a real or we just loosing our time...just wondering. anyone reviewed or even hired by now...it would be nice to hear what are their terms.
Generally interested in moving to M. East....Europe is not for me anymore...at least my part of Europe is a low pay hopeless situation...dont want to waste my time, skills and experience anymore down here.
I see a lot of people here are already working in some pretty exotic "sandy" places :-) I am very much interested to hear from them, please PM me....seriously interested to make things happen, any outside help, or recommendation will be "highly appreciated".

Thank you guys and have a nice day :-)
