Independant ATC units
I'm sure this has been asked before but i'm trying to get a list of the non NATS towers around the UK that have radar capability (not interested in the ADC/ADI only ones).
So far the list I can think of is this:
· Glasgow Prestwick
· Inverness, Wick, Stornoway etc. (HIAL Group)
· Newcastle
· Durham Tees Valley, Liverpool, Doncaster (Peel aviation)
· Leeds Bradford
· Manchester, Humberside, East Midlands, Bournemouth (MAG Group)
· Coventry
· Hawarden Chester
· Oxford Kidlington
· London Southend
· Norwich
· Newquay
Am I missing any?

Cambridge, Exeter and Manston come to mind although a trawl through one of the flight guides or the AIP looking for units with dedicated radar frequencies might prove useful.
BTW Oxford doesn't have a radar yet although the project is well advanced.

Southend South or Sheppey Island North. Hasn't been built by Boris yet, but no guarantees that it'll be run by gnats.

Do not forget Plymouth even if it is only open for another 7 weeks.
I am informed the oldest operational UK ATCO (not AFISO or air ground)
retired there last week aged 73.

261_p, if you're looking so you have an idea of where you can be employed as a civvy with an APS rating then don't bother counting gloucester or Scatsta as they only provide SRAs with their radar...just a thought...
