I suggest a look at DFS's (sole German ATC provider) website.

Reminds me of a question asked by a Trident once: "What are the delays like on the Red and Green motorways to the Fatherland today?"

Salary of controllers starts at €90,000 per year.

German air traffic controllers to strike Tuesday » Breaking News | Wire Update News | News Wires -

Is this true? If so why are there any ATCOs left in the UK?

Touny,
remember last year ?
When we were paid more than €150000 per year, had 242 holidays, were potential mass-murderers because we worked alone on a sector in order to let our female colleagues go to school and bring their children back at home (not to mention they didn't come at all on Wednesdays and Week-ends).

How long did it last, this bashing in the press ? One year ? One and a half ?

I DON'T BELIEVE JOURNOS !
Furthermore when they talk wages during a negotiation on wages.

Touny,

Did you get the point of what inbalance said? Just re-read it.

Bratco and Ron83,
no need to yell, I was just asking the question without any kind of prejudice, for information....

I don't know how well are german ATCOs paid (except rumours...), i don't know what kind of taxes and so on.
So i was asking... I guess that what these forums are for.
I know my situation and how much i'm paid and i'm absolutely not complaining, I understand pretty well the defiance towards media... I just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask...
Sorry if that's still too sensitive for you guys.
