Area covered by 129.1 MHz
Hey folks, Ive been listening to this frequencey for a while now and been told its Scottish Control Rathlin West Sector (RAT W), however the area covered of this sector doesnt really corrospond with the aircraft positional reports I am hearing.
Aircraft heading east, tend to check in to 129.1 just west of Bilvo, (located just west of Blackpool) but to my confusion, just west Robbo, not far from Glasgow!
Can anyone explain the area covered by this sector? Is this somesort of bandboxing but over a large distance?
Cheers,
James

Yes, it's due to bandboxing. Rathlin east and west are normally one sector and are quite often combined with the Central sector, which goes quite far to the nw of Benbecula.
