Ex WO Jim Parr is retiring
Jim is finally finishing paid employment in May this year. After a long career in ATC, he left the service to work as a civil servant in the VC10 sim at Brize. He continued at the sim when the contract was taken over by Thales. I am compiling a list of any funny stories/ incidents(!!) which would go down well in at his retirement do. All info greatly appreciated, please feel free to PM me if required.
Thanks

If it's the same Jim Parr.....
In the early 80's, as a newly qualified Sgt Local Controller at Leeming (and straight from the School at Shawbury) . Jim obviously remembered 'the correct distance between lips and microphone ' advice.
He used to pucker up and try to kiss the mic. About 30 times an hour........he thought we wouldn't notice.
Oh, and his habit of pressing the Crash Alarm button and passing the Crash Phone handset to anyone who was passing by and who had no idea what the hell was going on. He did it to me, (twice), the SATCO, the maxed out Ground Contoller, the DI and once to a Young Farmer on a visit.
Happy Days
Please wish him a happy retirement.

All the VERY best to Jim.
Have a long and happy one; you certainly worked for it.
