Once heard of a fellow ATCO who had converted the cupboard under the stairs into a 'cockpit'. He would begin the flight, then retire to bed. In the morning, he would resume 'cockpit duties' and land the flight...

One PPRuNe ATC watcher allegedly has half a DC8 cockpit in a bathroom.
I just have a row of 737 seats to keep our Mile High Club membership active

JustaFew, I thought that was what retired long haul pilots were wont to do - disappear into the dark cupboard under the stairs for hours at a time (usually overnight), watching only the meter dials, having a cuppa brought in every 2-3 hours or so and listening to "white noise" (as simulated HF) on an ill-fitting headset ...

Hi Lon More.
Many (over 20!!) years ago I made use of that rather splendid DC8 cockpit. Is it still around? I know the owner moved on and has now retired. Any information gratefully received (including an email)

A US Center controller has a B737-100 cockpit set up as a NG. We flew it last Wed. and it is very realistic, even to the point of pitch up on flap extension etc....It's been out of service for a few years while he moved it from his hangar to the garage in his new house. But it working again. Here is a link to a few photos.

I'd hate to have to go around in that - or even worse, abort on the runway; it could get messy.
