Consolidation of any units is always heart-wrenching for those involved whether you choose to follow the job, forsaking friends, family, favourite places, or leave the job to keep all those things. It's also difficult for those in the new location facing the influx of new workmates with different operational cultures and already well established relationships. Big units are not as personal as the small ones but they can be very good in other ways.

My very brief brush with Manchester goes back to the mid 90s and I was mightily impressed with the professionalism shown. I have no doubt that will remain wherever you are. No doubt the new locale will have its own proud history and this will now include the lads and lasses [formerly] of Manchester.

I hope that the various life transitions go well for all involved. If you're in a new location my only advice from my own moves is that every place is what you make of it. Be prepared to get off your @rse and get the best out of it. It really does make things much easier with a positive attitude going in.

All the best,

DNC

Well the "Saga Tour" of the MACC retirees to PC ended at 16.17 today, with the last bag unloaded outside Olympic House.
40+ [about to be] retired staff went by luxury coach to Prestwick Centre:-
a, To have a look at what we [AS A UNIT] had contributed to.
b, To say "Goodbye" to those who were/had relocated,
c, To have a "party" sorry PARTY/THRASH to help with the integration of MACC/SCATCC into a happy and co-hesieve unit.....judging by the amount of damp eyes, and happy smiles....hopefully, the plan has started successfully
I am not going to name "names", but I would like to thank EVERYONE on the coach....and that includes "Management"...they were "Brilliant"
But to every one of my [unfortunately now] EX colleagues...
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES......
I'll send the photies ASAP
