VLJ and TCAS
Hi,
I'm a french ATC trainee and I'm writing a paper on the advent and the integration of Very Light Jets in the Upper En Route traffic. In Europe the carriage of ACAS 2 is mandatory for a/c having a maximum TO mass exceeding 5,700 kg so that means some VLJ's are likely to carry only TCAS 1. What about in the US? Do they usually carry TCAS 1 or 2 or none? And are the new ones G1000 equiped provided with such equipment?
(sorry if it's a bit technical and/or boring, but thanks anyway if anyone can shed some light on the topic!)
