What part of the world are you from? You should be able to obtain just a normal travellers Visa that is valid for 3 months to start with. You can go to/contact the embassy of the country were the test will be held (f.e. Belgium if the test will be held there) and get the travellers Visa from them. Also you can ask them about the procedure if the tests go well to arrange student Visa.

Info

You should tell them that you need viza and to send you Invitation Letter both to you and to Embassy that you will apply for viza.

I think you won't have a problem getting it since they don't make any problems when they see Eurocontrol Invitation Letter.

Tell them to mention in the letter that they will pay for your tickets and accommodation as well.

If the Eurocontrol test is the same as some 10 years ago that is not a test for a ATC Controller it is more a test for someone wanting to become a astronaut or similar,so don't expect too much.

All the best,

Gianni

Peace of cake,
Invitation letter ,
Passport size picture,
Insurance ,pay as you wish but not less than intended period of stay
Copy of ticket reservation,
Go to Holland embassy/Belgian as well, show them those documents and ask if they need more, but I think that it is.
And you must submit all documents 14 days before traveling day.
Do not expect too much in EC.
You just need to be best of the best to pass, especially having in mind your citizenship.
if you are only equal to others, others will pass. So ,relax ,there is no special preparation for tests, except to work on english language. It might help,to listen bbc radio on the internet if you have good intenet connection. Just to "prepare" your ears.

If you pass it will be great job. you will never find anything simmilar in your "vilage" ,believe me.

and you always have PM function to ask me,
Best luck,
SINGA

Inv letter

I got the invitation letter from EC but it is sent by e-mail. I now have to call the Embassy and ask if they will accept it.

Tickets

If I booked a bus ticked to Stutgart and then booked a train ticket directly to Maastricht, and provided the Embassy with both copies, what do you think will they aprove my visa request. (since the tickets are not directly to Netherlands)

If you go to the website www.ind.nl click on English and look for the Short stay visa you can download a pdf file about the Schengen visa.

The English part starts on page 15 of the brochure.
Good luck.

PS - Actually - now I think about it - you will probably find you have to apply to the Germans for the visa as that is your first point of entry to the Schengen area. My 10 year old niece flew to Paris and connected straight onto a train to Holland but had to go to the French embassy to get the visa from them or she would have been put back on the flight to the Caribbean!

Cool

a bus ticked to
You are going to buy a bus ticket during the application process for aviation related job?

EC will refund all related costs, that may occur during your application process.
So air tickets to Amsterdam,if you are going to Mastricht, than train to Mastricht,
travel insurance,
hotel accomodation,if it is not provided by EC .

Be careful with the statement of "all related costs". When I came over for an interview from OZ they tried to limit the total reimbursement amount to 300euro!! It was only after I refused to attend that they agreed to pay all reasonable costs.
