Also Gatwick inbounds from the north via WOD/MID we could give radar vectors and position them downwind right for runway 26L, descending them to four thousand feet and transferring them when they were clean against Heathrow DVR departures and Gatwick right turnouts. Could be a bit sporty sometimes. Does that still happen now ?

Thank you for your incredibly unhelpful and uninteresting reply.
Others seem to have filled the void and given Robbie at least a partial explanation, which is more than you or I did.

Mr Grubby
Both still happen now.
BOAC - as Mr Grubby states, downwind rights for 26L were very rarely a day time option - only at night, due to the interaction of EGLL Deps. They are also very dependent on EGKK pending deps. They are still given fairly regularly today, but you have to be in the right place at the right time. The Kestrel in the screen shot above is usually prime for it because of it's flight time.
If Heathrow were on easterlies and it was quiet, traffic coming into BIG we would send from about abeam Gatwick direct to OCK and release the aircraft at OCK. Does that still happen now ?

That will be Windows Live messenger, someone I was talking to at the time with there screen name "The Naked pilot"...
I was using TOPCAT to calculate my Landing weights and etc for BAW2687, (Now cant remember where I flew from) It definately wasnt EIDW. In the notepad I had Jetplan Fuel calculations.
