Climb rate/decent again

Disclaimer: I have read and searched previous posts. I can't spell and no, I do not use Microsoft flightsim

Apart from what seems to state the UK AIP (500 mini up or down), I was pretty sure there was something in an ICAO document about it, which states (used to) 500 mini for decent and 300 for climb (not talking about specific cases).
I am happy with CDAs and how we can perform them whilst advising ATC for shallow rates but I would like to have my mind put at rest.

Did I dream those 300 fpm mini for climb (or mixed them up with an old company Ops manual- Boeing not Airbus-) ?
And what it is the ICAO reference (couldn't find it on my -cheap version- of PanOps 8168 or ICAO annex 2).

Thanks a lot.

Re-Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any fight which will follow after the 2nd or 3rd reply .
