ASDE-X
Hi,
The transponder I use secures all Mode A/C replies on the ground as well as all "all call" mode S replies. It will only respond to aircraft specific mode S interrogations. Will this meet ASDE-X requirements when at airfields that use this equipment?
Thanks

That is standard for Mode S transponders, there should be no reply to ATCRBS or Mode S All-call on the ground.
However, to be seen on the ground by ASDE-X, the transponder needs to be able to broadcast some form of ground squitter, either short squitter (containing Mode S address) or Extended Squitter (Mode S address plus position). The ASDE-X system (assuming its the same as UK LAM systens) will use this squitter to obtain ground position and the Mode S address content to direct interrogations to get Mode A code, height, etc.
Hope this helps,
RS
