Vertical Speed vs Ground Speed

Do you Controllers prefer, on London departures, the pilots to either climb with a good rate (I assume 1800 - 2500fpm) or at 1000 fpm and keep the ground speed?

Thanks

Depends on what we wish to do with you.
Fly a standard departure, until asked to do something different.
If asked to expedite a climb we want height and are not worried about the forward speed.
