Non SID departures

Hi! I am working as procedural app controller and often use non SID departures and that is not quite clear to me! If a pilot recives a clearance to intercept radial from VOR or bearing from NDB to a certain level and thereafter to turn inbound some point or navigational aid, is it still instrument departure or not? Thx

Hi Cucundax

I'm not sure I entirely understand your question, but if you're asking what I think you are then...

I'd consider those instrument departures, but not "Standard" instrument departures.
SID's need to be published procedures. If you're giving a clearance such as "intercept radial etc" no mater how often you use it, it's not standard.

Hope it helps...
