If you would like me to keep you posted here as to progress on these issues, I am pleased to do so as it seems to be more avidly read than any other means of communication!!
Yes please! Thanks for that information.

As I say, you have to kiss it (the mike that is) to modulate!

Fireflybob: Ok - as and when there is more to report - I will. Will it get lost in this thread or should I start a new one each time?

For my information - is it when you are talking to Area Control, Terminal Control, MACC or ScOACC? It makes a difference as the equipment in use at the four (three) centres is different and whilst the same specification applies to all, implementation introduces different characteristics.

I guess best to post to this thread as doing so will put it at the top.

In my experience ScOACC seems to be scratchy at times but will pay closer attention now!

Sticky soon to appear on this subject

All,

I will soon be starting a Sticky on the audio quality of the UK ATC services operated from Swanwick (AC and TC), MACC and ScOACC.This is to collate reports - good and bad - from yourselves on the subject. This way we have a better chance to make improvements where necessary.

I will need help from both ends of the system - controllers and pilots - any headset wearers in UK airspace. PM me if you prefer as I am aware that this is not a secure site and what you have to say may be a bit more sensitive.

Regards

Steve
