IAA

Dfs
Hi there,
not from dfs myself but from eurocontrol (a neighbour, so to say). Just seen the reply to your post and it seems to me like the guy/gal who wrote has a very strange sense of humour.
Anyways, check on flightglobal.com or google the DFS site as I know for certain that, at least last week, they were still looking for instructors. Also if interested the DFS are looking(were looking?) for conversions for Karlsruhe (area radar).
All the best from Maastricht.

Die IAA Leute wissen nicht, was sie wünschen. sie konnten ein trinkendes Festival innerhalb einer Brauerei nicht organisieren. Möglicherweise bieten die DFS Leute den besten Job an!

Not many useful answers so far. Maybe this helps:
Working time is 38,5 hours per week.
Payment depends on whether you are only coaching in the sim, or also teaching in the classroom. I don't have the exact numbers here, but it is somewhere in the region of 90.000 to 100.000 Euros per year. German income tax at 100.000 per year is somewhere close to 32% plus social insurance fees. Net salary is about 55.000 per year. Pension plans are available.
Nice working atmosphere. Lots of english guys already there.
I hope i could help you, if have any other specific questions go ahead.

How does the salary in the academy compare to
operational salaries in Germany?
In Finland the salary in the Avia College (Finnish ATC academy)
was somewhat excellent, when compared to local purchasing parity.
(Still using my memory only...)
It was the basic unit salary comparable to the unit where
the ATCO was working plus approx. 1800 euros per month.
So the salary in the Avia College is equal to or greater than
the operational ATCO salaries. And it truly makes sense.
Teaching (OJTI or simulator) is hard work. If it is done
properly and with a professional attitude.
Actually a friend of mine is heading for a consultant work in Britain
from Germany for a hefty 119.000 ₤/yr. So there are salaries
and then there are salaries...
