Track direct after diversion

Hey,

Just wondering after you have diverted off track say due weather, if you then decided to track direct to your next point rather then regain track is it required to give your new bearing to the waypoint?

My experience:
XZR 123 proceed dct to XXX,
So far it has worked every time.
i am not quite sure is it or not in accordance with relevant docs but it works.
And that is the most important.
Also when I apply this method I have already prepared distance and magnetic track if crew is not familiar with airspace. But for me it is not necessary to give such info every time.
