"The lead interviewer kept saying he felt there was 'something missing', I still have no idea what he meant, but we shall have to see..."

Sounds like a way to fish for a response from you. If he had any real doubts heŽd probably been more specific to try and clear those issues. Questions like "Are you sure...", "Why would you give up on...", "Why waste years of studies for..." are ways to see how motivated you are, if youŽve thought things through.

Acceptance

Need I say more

I've been offered July or November courses - I said yes initially to the November one, but I'm seriously mulling over July too. I'm shaking from excitement

Didahdit,

Cogratulations, mate.

Was it you joined us on the Coastal sector on Tuesday? If so, sorry you didn't get much of a look in. Poor timing, I'm afraid.

Radar,

If it was you that was on watch when the KLM went the wrong way across the Dutch Mil zone, then yes. Things got a bit busy, but I was just lapping up anything I could to know for my interview, I was more than happy to let you guys do what you're trained for.

Medical pending, hope to see you in ops in a few years!

Glad to see nothing's changing

Lon,

Good to see you're still knockin' aound. This KLM was a bit different. Had a route in the FMS that's been withdrawn for about 18 months.

Didahdit,

Congrats again. See ya later

hi everyone,

I have been filling out my application for Eurocontrol as a trainee ATCO over the last few days and I'm just wondering about the motivational questions at the end (what are the duties/responsibilities of an ATCO? Why do you think you would be a good ATCO?) is there any sort of word limit or are they looking for very detailed answers? I feel like I could probably write a small essay on each question but not really sure if that's what they're looking for...and I definately don't want to fall at the first hurdle!

Any advice would be much appreciated from those who have already completed their initial application.

Regards,

pre3sg.

@pre3sg: I kept mine very brief, in fact I was probably taking the piss, but it seemed to work as I got hungrily invited to the FEAST.

About the FEAST stage 1, which I passed a while ago, it is useful to know some information:-
The bus stop you need at the central train station is stop G (bus 59?). The ticket costs 3.60 or 4euros for an all day ticket. Most people speak or at least understand English. You get off at the airport (easy to see), and the Tulip Hotel is on the left hand side, behind the petrol forecourt. Yes it is a set of garages essentially, but inside the rooms are fine.
Probably the hardest part of the test is the afternoon (if you make it that far), so it is important not to get flustered there and get a good work cycle going. Make sure you realise all the parts of the test are worth equal points, so no sense in spending ten minutes finding a cross conflict when you haven't re-ordered/deleted the other flight strips.
If you don't have to rush off, go out and explore the town, it's lovely, and everything is open late on Thursday evenings.
You should hear your result he next day.

Pre3 - looking at your username, are you a Leeds Aviation Student? Pre3 was what they use(d) in the emails.

GOOD hint...

1. get a GOOD night's sleep.
2. ensure you have an excellent command of the English language.

it's pointless asking for such advice on what to expect; results may be outdated or inaccurate. either way you still are far off from getting anywhere near to knowing more precisely what to expect. you just end up more nervous.

i did my FEAST tests x yrs ago. didn't pepare anything for them. passed all first time. be yourself. it's useless trying to be excellent for the tests if it's not your natural ability to be excellent to that level. the abinito course will have you kicked out in no time! the tests gauge your ability to see if you have what it takes to succeed the training. i've seen many candidates come and go in training. pity.

Passed!

I took from 9:00 to 14:30. It was exactly the form as here
FEAST test - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Really you can not do any preparation for it. The only advantage you can have is to know the compass (degrees, headings) and if you know some airline callsigns its also advantage in the second phase, the strip test.

We were invited 4, 2 of us passed. The first successful in the 2009

Was pretty fun in fact

Hello guys,

I hope you may help me with this issue:

I've past round 1 in Vienna some weeks ago. Got 90% of the test with a 8-9 and one test with a 4 (5 is the standard number). Unfortunately this test was English. I had a blackout that moment and I was not able to answer all englisch questions. But because of the other results I passed this round.

Parallel I do have a pending application at Eurocontrol. EC asked me if they get the approval to have a look in my results from the Vienna FEAST test - of course I agreed.
Now here is what makes me uncertainly: Do you think because of the bad english test they won't invite me into phase 2?

I've read in another forum that applicants who passed stage 1 at Vienna will be automatically invited into phase 2 at Maastricht!?

Any answer is appreciated

we have the same problem.
i had in most tests 8 or 9 points and only 4 points in english. i sent the result exchange document to eurocontrol this week and i'm still waiting for their answer.

i think you have already taken the test for the dfs, right? after which stage were you kicked?

Unhappy What after FEAST 1 & 2?

Hello, everyone! I passed both FEAST parts and went to the training facility test, on which a jury decided not to let me pass ahead. The score in Brussels meant nothing for the jury in Sofia, Bulgaria, and they didn't let me pass because of mistakes which can be easily coped with and cleared during some minimum training. Now I can try again passing the FEAST after 2 years or is there anything else I can do with my passed FEAST instead of waiting so long. Please, if anybody has some clues, please share them.
