US ATCO Jumpseat...

Hello Guys,

I'm a regional pilot here in the states. I was wondering, in the post 9/11 world - i understand your jumpseating rights went away with the advent of CASS that now controls which ones of us are "real pilots" .

My question is, why isn't the ATC association pushing for you guys to be included in CASS for jumpseat privilages? I'm thinking that with all new trainess WE NEED YOU in our jumpseats! Not to mention i believe you guys should be entitled to the benefit for the work you put in now days with the limited resources and pay given.

I guess i'm in shock that the union isn't pushing to get you guys back in our jumpseats and i'm wondering why? what are the politics that are involved with that topic? Please enlight me as i'm a firm believer in the right you guys have to be included in our jumpseat lists.

Sincerely,

-downwindabeam (an admiring pilot)
