ATCA Aptitude Tests

Hi,

After searching the forum and reading relevant posts, I wondered if anybody could shed some light on what’s involved in the aptitude tests for an Air Traffic Control Assistants position? Also any tricky questions which may be asked in an interview?

Many thanks in advance

Never heard of aptitude tests for assistants. Nats recruits operational atsas from ATSA1 grades and internally from admin assistants etc.

Which unit are you applying for?

Never heard of aptitude tests for ATCAs either.

We look for a good standard of education, a keen interest in avaition, common sense and the ability to adapt and react.
Some of that comes out in the application process, the rest during the comprehensive training programme which we subject new victims to.
Subsequently we have an ongoing competency system, similar to the ATCO scheme, under which all ATCAs have to maintain minimum standards.

ATCO training involves spending many £1000s of pounds, which is why aptitude tests are part of their recruitment process, ATCA training doesn't but high standards still have to achieved and maintained.

Thanks for your reply. The unit is not NATS and the airport is owned by the HIAL.
