EGPH - Wednesday 19th December

What was going on yesterday at Edinburgh?
About lunchtime there was a EZ A 319 and BMI Embraer 145 Holding over the city.
Initially this looked like a missed approach on RW06 but that would have resulted normally in a left tun over the forth to rejoin from the west.
Can anyone tell me what was up?

Aircraft were holding at the EDN whilst the runway was switched to facilitate IRVR touchdown improvement.

If it was before two it was more likely that it was because the runway was closed due FOD.
