I wondered what you ATC chaps and chapesses would make of this.

It's also embedded in the Transair website.

It's nothing new. SBS has been available for several years and can provide a quite realistic "radar display" on a PC by decoding Mode S/ADS-B transmissions from aircraft. If they send ADS-B you get the full "radar" picture similar to the real thing with aircraft moving around realtime. If they only transmit Mode S you get a list which can display type, company, registration, speed, altitude, climbing/descending, etc, etc.

It's all dealt with in other threads..

Sorry... what I meant was (and should have said of course) was the use of seemingly real ATC comms, since most people on here get very hot under the collar whenever the subject comes up.

That R/T is real... and some people understandably do get upset about the abuse of R/T as their lives depend on it. I very much doubt if the originator of that clip obtained permission..

Neither the first nor second controller gave their permission and were only made aware of the video and AirNav promo material today.

OK spunk pots - you win.......

On second thoughts, I hear that one of the controllers has asked AirNav for a discount or freebie RadarBox by way of 'royalties'.

Hey, before we know it we'll be employing agents to manage the new found fame and fortnue! I reckon my exotic accent would command a grand a word.

I see what you did there

My voice (carrying out an ATC function) was recorded without my knowledge or pemission and is regularly broadcast on Discovery; could I claim royalties/compensation?

Was it that pretty dodgy PAR approach? SR's voice beforehand was far more alluring
