Job at NATS

Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a recruitment agency that employs people for NATS. I'm guessing there must be constant recruitment for temps in administrative roles, etc all the time, so does anyone know if they use an agency to do this?

I've recently failed in my attempt to become an ATCO and am hoping to gain more knowledge of the aviation industry to be better prepared next time I apply.

Many thanks,

Vic

why don't you get a job at an airport? Office work for nats won't giev you any useful experience. And no I don't think they use an agency...

NATS uses an agency for some recruitment for non-ATC posts. Not for ATC though.

V154,

Did you receive any feedback about the reasons behind your failure? Have you got a local airport/flying club that wouldnt mind some volunteer help?

Have you or would you consider a visit to your local NATS unit and one of the centres?

IME the more you show an interest prior to interview the greater your chance of success. The board are not looking for ATCOs trained, for the use of, but well rounded individuals with a real interest in aviation.

Good luck for the future.

Hey,

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I received no feedback about my failure like many others.

I live in Southampton and I've approached Eastleigh airport several times but with no joy. I've made a couple of visits to LACC through a contact I have there but ideally I'd like an administrative role at Swanwick so I can pick up some knowledge and was just wondering whether such roles exist. But I take it this isn't the best idea?

Thanks again everyone,

Vic

IF you can get in as a bona fide NATS employee, then you will discover that you have significant advantages whilst at the college (For a start, you'll stay on the same salary) (Better that than going in as a temp)

Geting a job as an ATSA with NATS would be a good start, as you'll learn lots of really useful stuff 'by osmosis' and in the event that it all goes to pot, you are unlikely to get the heave - ho.

Good luck

PS All ATCOS mistrust Admin

Vic, If you failed at the last stage, you can ask for feedback.

If you are still interested NATS use the CAPITA agency based in Maidenhead. They supply Admin and Tech personnel. If you haave any computer knowledge it might get you a job. Admin staff are not so likely to pick up much ATC experience or knowledge.
Good luck
