Philippine Airways Numbering
Folks
Does anyone know how the Philippine IFR Airways numbering System Works.
They appear to be totally different to anywhere else with W and B prefixes that do not seem to have any relation to direction, height or anything else that we can concieve
Many thanks

I hope a little more thought has gone into the PAL flight numbers than one of our "Local" operations....
QTR899, QTR889 and QTR898.........do they all look similar, well yes they will and assigned to a company that is notorious for NOT using their callsign, the obvious dangers of the wrong aircraft getting the wrong clearance are painfully apparent and demonstrated on many occasions!
And due to the well thought out scheduling they do turn up on frequency at the same time.....
