Hi Forest007!
I was also due to start in September, however I have chosen to wait until the next course. I was given the choice, but I reckon it will be helpful to save a few pennies before moving over and hopefully it wont make much difference! I was told it will be first week in January? Anyone else starting around then?

Hopefully me.
I was due to start on the September course but had issues with my medical (Dodgy ECG). I've had an Echo-Scan which turned out ok and I'm due an MRI next week as a precaution. As long as thats ok I'm assuming I'll be on the Dec/Jan course.

I may be starting in January. Just found out I got through stage three today and will be having my medical in about a week. I assume that'll be the first option they give me.

There was an article in the local rag down here about a new bus service that will operate between Bournemouth town centre and the airport, I think I recall it said it will operate between 7am and 7pm so could well suit TATC's.

There are two bus companies operating in Bournemouth. Transdev Yellow Buses and Wiltshire & Dorset. Only Transdev Yellow Buses operates a bus service (route 747) between Bournemouth Airport and the Travel Interchange in Bournemouth. The Travel Interchange is the main bus/coach and train station in Bournemouth.
This bus service does not have a very frequent time table. On Saturdays, the bus departs every hour from 10:40am to 18.15pm, but on weekdays and Sundays, it only operates a few times in the morning, and once at 17:10. Here are the time tables for the 747 bus service from Bournemouth Airport to Bournemouth:
» Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
10:40am, 11:40am, 12:40pm and 17:10pm
» Saturday
10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 14:30pm, 15:30pm, 16:30pm, 17:30pm and 18:15pm
» Sunday
10:40am, 12:30pm, 14:40pm and 17:10pm
The bus will take you to the Travel Interchange in Bournemouth in approximately 15 minutes. If you arrive at Bournemouth Airport later than 17.10 on weekdays or Sunday, or later than 18.15 on Saturday, you will have to take a taxi to travel to Bournemouth

Thanks Sacrigger for posting what there is at the moment but I read that there is a bus service due to start that will operate at more student friendly times.

College
I am currrently at the college and living in Boscombe, walking distance from the beach, shops and a cheap pub. There are so many people that drive in from the area I am sure for a small bung a week you will easily find carshare.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, you can probably find car share on here or wait unil the induction course and find out whos living near you (also a good way to meet everyone)

Course size
Our course is currently 50 but split over two classes.
The size of the course will not change the instruction type that you receive.
The lessons are all mainly powerpoint in a lecture room and on the Simulators it is one on one with an instructor.
