What classification of airspace is the airway?

A - no

B, C, D - yes

E, F, G - can't be told to do anything

VFRs are 'encouraged' to avoid IFR routes in Oz; but with GPS assisstance point A to point B is often right along the airway without reference to IFR charts.

We see more and more 'conflictions' with VFR and IFRs in class E and G; and the "big sky theory" for VFRs is getting smaller and smaller.

or can it be ordered
Since VFR traffic is not controlled it can't be ordered.

Well, that's a bit simplistic is it not?
Do you say VFR flights in class B, C, D airspace are not controlled?
News to me......
