A question for BHX ATCOs
I have just moved to a strip south west of the BHX zone, and my approach takes me very close to the south west boundary, and just under the 2500'+ CTRL D. I am not transponder equipped, so knowing how busy you guys are, do you prefer a call to identify me and confirm height, or are you just not bovered?

we'll assume you're outside controlled airspace unless you do anything to lead us to believe you might be lost or suffeing from some other sort of problem.
A quick call on 118.050 wouldn't do any harm though, plus we can give you traffic information on anything else we see out there.
