Clearance in Dubai

How long before planned departure time will ATC be happy to give the clearance in Dubai. I operate a private jet and I am not always sure when the pax will arrive but would like to be prepared when they do show up.

I can't answer your specfic Q re DXB as I don't have the airfield info to hand. However, as a generalisation, even if they won't give you your clearance (how long can it take to get anyway), if it is so that you can set up the SID, why not call ground/delivery and ask what departure you should expect and tell them you will call back at ETD-10 or something.

We get your flightplan around 30 - 40 mins before your planned off blocks time and can give clearance from that point onwards. AIP states call ten before off blocks. Pretty flexible but irritating when you call for clearance then report fully ready immediately as your details need to be passed to radar in good time.

Hope this helps.
