Heh. I heard part of the "selection" was candidates having to sit the SHL testing.

I was sitting, most of the time anyway, except for the maths part where I was rolling on the floor, clutching my stomach from laughter shouting, "You want what???????"

i'd say:
it's an online assessment divided in 3 parts:
english language comprehension
calculating capacity
logical thinking

correct?

SHL = Saville Holdsworth Ltd.

Been around for about 20 something years. The have a range of psychometric and Occupational Personality tests. Used by the UK, Canada and Australia (and probably others) for ab-initio selection.

ASA

Hi, a couple of us in the UK have done the Abilities tests etc but our referees have not been contacted yet. I'm just curious if you could let me know if your have because they did say they were doing reference checks in parallel?

I've only just joined PPrune so have just been reading this thread. Looks like we all found part 2 thoroughly enjoyable. .

Mate, I think you may have missed the boat this time round. There was a global search started in Dec last year & we're down to the final (I hope) rounds. If you're still in, you'll know it.

For what it's worth, this really was a global search with interviews all over the place - Cape Town, Joburg, Zurich (Germany!! ), London etc etc. Your nationality wouldn't have made any difference.

Tot siens!

That's right, your nationality wouldn't be an issue. But there was definitely a focus on controllers with some form of Eurocat, or similar, experience.

On line testing

Have just completed the online testing. Wow, how hard was that second set of questions, I really had to rush the last 7 or 8 questions.

Any how, just sit and wait now I suppose.

FGS.

AsA

Well all the Aussies are finished online testing now and AsA said during the interview that they wanted us to have completed the short course by the end of the year. So I believe they will start letting everyone know very soon.

One thing ASA is keen on is
the appearance of being fair, whether fair or not, I suggest anyone who loses out, to exploit that.

If offers are being made to Euro controllers, will Eurocontrol be 'poaching back'; cause there is more than one Aussie looking to go elswhere, that doesn't include the sandpit.
