Dress Code at NATS

Starting a job at NATS in the next few months, been told the dress code was SMART CASUAL............anyone know exactly what that means? Are jeans allowed? Speedos and a sleevless beach tee? Help!

From what I've seen at W Drayton it's either collar and tie or scruffy as possible with no middle ground. Unless you consider middle ground as open-crotch balaclava, barbed-wire vest and bowler hat with sleeves?

Hi Uncle S.What job are you starting? If it's trainee ATCO then at the college it's smart casual but is much more relaxed at the units-however,and I stand to be corrected here,NATS doesn't officialy have a dress code. Most people at the units wear what's comfortable to work in,for some that's shirt and tie,for others-me included-t shirt and jeans.

Females are advised to wear shorts skirts and skimpy tops revealing as much flesh as possible thereby ensuring a satisfactory grade and an ATC licence.

I firmly believe that a uniform should be introduced by NATS. I am sick and tired of seeing scruffy people at work and always think the military look so smart!
Perhaps something to match the new logo(good job there too). Perhaps management could take a little pay each month and provide us with a full outfit. I for one would vote for this!!!!!!
Inspections are another thing. 10% less in our wages if we do not meet dress code. We are a private company in business and need to project ourselves that way. This is a competitive world and we could be taken over at any time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Superb mate! Made me laugh anyroad! Spoken like a man who would happily tell management to take a flying f*%$ at a rolling doughnut if they even hinted at a dress code. And although you sometimes wear a shirt and tie you are in general just like the rest of us,a scruffy bastard!

If Nats want to provide a uniform at their expense then that's fair dinkum.
Many years ago we had a moronic a......hole manager who tried a dress code at ISZ.I asked if kilts were allowed. The silence was deafening.
Meanwhile I will still turn up in shorts and flip-flops

In that case i wouldn't expect a dress code at all. Good luck in the new job.

I always make the effort to be suitably attired - fine threads are the making of a fine ATCO..

Comic, P7, very comic. Moss Bross want you to take the suit you hired back.

Some have a style. Some have style. World of a difference. Think the old Stephen Hendry sepcial will make an appearance tomorrow......
