Any ATCA info
Well, just discovered today that I've not been successful at the NATS interview . Completely gutted, but undeterred, just want this year to roll along quickly now. I think it was my broad, slightly wandering work history that sealed my fate, but on the bright side, I've got an entire year to put that right. Tomorrow I'm going to start phoning all airports to see if there are any ATCA positions going, just thought I'd query here first though. Did I read somewhere that CATC was recruiting? Also does anyone know of any ATSA positions going around the South, or London based? Any information that anyone could supply would be very gratefully received.

doncaster airport were looking for assistants a while back as well - i know that they are planning on creating jobs with the expected rise on traffic at the airport. Might be worth giving them a try as well.

Any ATSA taken into NATS from outside these days comes in on a variable contract [not a permanent one] which is ideal if you only want a stepping stone to greater things. CATC has a constant throughput of ATSAs and are usually hiring, although they tend to take people in batches, so it might not be an immediate start. It is a good place to build up your general knowledge on the aviation industry in general, and ATC in particular. You also get an inside view of the simulators [although that is a double-edged sword].
Be aware though that it does not in itself improve your chances of selection for ATCO training and the chance of a permanent contract job as an ATSA is pretty slim in NATS now.
Send your CV to the Delivery Manager at CATC if you still feel it's a worthwhile gamble.
