While we're on the topic of 'secondary' runways...

Is 06/24 still in use at EGBB? I notice it still has some(?) of the markings.

Cheers

Last week it still had a runway barrier across it before the main runway on the terminal side.

The barriers remain in position across R/W 24 as a safety measure whilst the contractors' crossing is still active between the works base and the remaining work areas around the new taxiway Charlie.

Out of interest - what a/c types use 06/24 when it's in use?

Whilst it may not obviously be in use at present because of WIP, it was a question I'd been asking myself for some time now. I'm in and out of Brum quite often and haven't seen it used for years now. Notwithstanding the WIP at present, is it in fact still available as an active runway?

I noticed that the (recently replaced) street lamps on the A45 just beyond the 06 threshold are 'cut down' - presumably to give some extra clearance but I've always wondered why - considering the runway is hardly (if ever) used?
