SABER sector
Can anyone from TCC confirm for me that 135.425 has replaced 129.60 on the SABER sector and if 129.60 is a "spare" freq or has it been withdrawn.
Thanks Ron

The SABER sector still uses 129.6 although very rarely operates as a single sector.
Basically about 18 months ago TC EAST was expanded from two sectors ( SABER / DAGGA ) into 4 sectors SABER and LOGAN for west bounds and DAGGA and REDFA for eastbounds, each with their own frequencies - 4 in totall
Now this is the complexish part.
Unless it is busy, only ONE controller is manning the whole EAST sector and because of the comms equiptment can only bandbox ( or cross couple ) 2 frequencies together, so there are two in use and two "spare". The ones in use are 121.22 for eastbounds and 132.45 for westbounds. This is due to the low level coverage and range of the freqs.
The only time 129.6 gets used now during normal ops is if we split LOGAN ( 132.45 ) and SABER ( 129.6 ) due to traffic levels.
