Question eurocontrol

Can any-one confirm/deny that there is an agreement (official or not) between LATCC/Eurocontrol not to employ LATCC (en-route) controllers at the moment, due to the dire shortage of staff??? diredire

There was a gentleman's agreement not to do it I believe - the only problem was there were few gentlemen on either side; anyway as my esteemed colleague said, recruitment will soon stop.

Your'e a Hard man Lon More, but Im told they are good to find! It is my understanding that Eurocontrol have stopped conversion training for Maastricht indefinitely. Apprarently some Australian bAstards used up all their Mission Money!

Thanks for the info. Is it a definite they have stopped conversion training, and if not when is it due to stop. Just one more question,if I was to apply and be lucky enough to scrape through, how long could I expect them to hold the position open!??

roger,
As far as I'm aware, the current course, which includes two conversion controller's, is rumoured to be the last UFN. Haven't seen anything in writing, though so you could always try your luck.

Red face

I last spoke to a lady charged with recruitement about five months ago. I was told at that time that they do not plan doing any further conversion courses for at least two years.

just passing another moment..

My advice : apply and wait for the official rely. With current Ab initio failure rate and resignations , the past policy is likely to change fast. But, I would agree that by 2003 it is probably over..
