Hello,
Not strictly an ATC subject but are
AFISOs permitted in the UK to
sequence traffic in the circuit ?
If they are I would be interested in
yours views .
I would imagine that by sequencing
traffic they are implying some sort of
separation ??
Bye,
D.Boxman.

Hi D Boxman
UK FISOs (Aerodrome) are not allowed to sequence aircraft in the circuit. They merely issue information to enable pilots to fit safely into the traffic pattern. The only time they are allowed to issue instructions is to avoid immediate danger, and to assist aircraft on the ground with directions to the apron. They are not even supposed to issue go around instructions for example. Hope this is helpful. I will dig out the paperwork if necessary.
