Cool

Could be an Antonov 24 or 26..... .Basically the same as each other, but the 26 has a tailgate loading ramp.. .Not as big as the 12, but big for a twin turboprop.. . <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="cool.gif" />

With reference to the Sri Lankan register, try contacting the Aviation Hobby Shop in West Drayton, they may be able to help you

Thumbs up

I suspect what you saw was an Antonov 8 (the forerunner to the An10/12). It's basically the same size/shape, but with two engines.. .. .What was the registration I think i know a man who maybe able to help you out.

A couple are still flying in defiance of the makers' withdrawal of the certificate - African (Equatorial Guinea) registration. The one in Sri Lanka was inactive but seems to have risen again.....very doubtful situation! If you can get a good slide of it, there'll be hundreds of spotter types who'll pay good money for a copy!
