IFR Formations
Here’s one for discussion, either that or I’m very naive, but I’ve never really been faced with it before. So here goes. Civilian IFR formations in civilian airspace (class c) when weather at departure point and en-route is not that great, cloud base overcast at 2500ft, and the aircraft in question are 4 ex airforce radial trainers, now flying as a civi aerobatic team, requesting fl100. Questions are, are they permitted? Can ATC refuse it, and on what grounds. Lets hear it.
