Post EASY JET DRIVERS AT LGW

WHY CAN YOU NOT TAKE G1 FOR DEPARTURE WHEN LGW ARE ON 08R. YOU ALWAYS SEEM TO NEED AT LEAST H1 OR FULL LENGTH ARE YOUR PLANES TOO HEAVY, OR ARE YOU DEPARTING USING DE-RATED THRUST? (OR WHATEVER YOU CALL IT) BA AND OTHERS ARE ABLE TO USE G1 FOR MANY SHORT HAUL ROUTES. BEING ABLE TO DEPART FROM G1 HELPS LGW ATC FLEXIBILITY AND MAY ALSO GET YOU AWAY QUICKER.

I expect they don't have any RTOW data for intersection take-offs.

Yep, apart from the fact that most of the flights are full therefore too heavy to use G1, the company has no performance figures to use for G1 the best that can be done at the moment is H1, I understand that EZY are preparing performance figures from G1 so should soon be able to help ATC out when LGW is using 08R.

Cool

NITC,. .. .If you want someone to use G1, give them the TORA & TODA.. .. .I've doen it plenty of times this past cycle.. .. .

We've been waiting for G1 performance for months...it's still coming next week/soon/any time now. Going to H1 cost me 15min hold a few days ago when we could have nipped in at G1. Believe me, the drivers airframe would love to have the ability to take off from there. It's just a case of waiting for the figures!

Thumbs up

Muppit,. .. .A great suggestion, but one which assumes that the operator will have performance data other than runway-specific. easyJet is not one such - they only have data for runways they use and intersections which they have calculated for. Such data is produced on a cost-per-calculation basis (and sometimes, a licensing fee too).. .. .That's why they can't use the TORA/TODA to make their own calculation.

Mutt, as stated above, the company is preparing the performance figures as we speak but how long it will take...?

Northern Sky,. .. .Maybe someone should have told the several EZY pilots who took it when offered.. .. .I gave them the info; they took it and expedited their departure.. . . . . . [ 21 March 2002, 11:56: Message edited by: Muppit ]

Muppit:. .. .Are you saying that EZY pilots contravened the terms of their AOC, ignored regulations and broke the ANO in order to 'expedite departure'! . .I think we should be told. . . . . [ 21 March 2002, 12:47: Message edited by: Alas para Volar ]
