Question Why 'LISTO'?

Anyone know why the former CON reporting point south of EGCC 'LISTO' is so called? (Posted on 'questions' as well).

As far as I'm aware CONGA was changed to LISTO to avoid confusion with differing HONILEY SID.

Ya see - HON / CON???? Similarity?

We had problems with readbacks and silly pilots flying the wrong SIDs etc etc so a change was made <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

I think the name LISTO came out of the "randomiser" in HQ NATS. Although it obviously had to be something totally different to HONILEY. We can find no geographical reason for it to be so called.

Hope this helps and Merry Christmas

Thought I'd highlight the fact "LISTO" means "READY" in Spanish, in the unlikely event that that sheds any light on the matter.

Merry Xmas,
